I did an adult thing today. I purchased furniture for my future home. I don’t know when or where that will be, but when it does happen, you can bet your bottom dollar that I’ll have a set of antique silverware and a vintage pine piece at the ready.
I’ve had home-fever for a while now — I’m constantly envisioning what I want my future home to look like. This involves spending way too many hours on Pinterest and may have something to do with living with a design freak (aka @sweetshadylane). During the hours I’ve spent day dreaming, I’ve put at least a dozen things in the cannot live without category. But in that dozen or so, I never once thought of something as crucial as silverware. Today, I got to hand pick each set and I’m obsessed with the mix-matched vibe of this antique flatware. Each piece is unique and different from the other. I mean…How cute?
I’m currently on the move with my boyfriend’s mom for her super-cool future business (follow @sweetshadylane on Instagram). It’s still a secret, so I can’t give too much away, but I will say that it involved us coming to the states biggest wholesale market, that’s held in Atlanta, nicknamed “hot-lanta” (for good reason.)
This market includes 3 giant buildings that house everything from home furnishings to gift accessories. Although it started out as kind of a bust, we stumbled upon the jackpot in building 2. That’s where I found this special piece! I spotted it sitting outside a furniture showroom, and I knew it had to be mine.
Big girl steps were taken today! I’ve fully prepped my boyfriend and I’m happy to announce he’s on board. I’ll keep you posted on where this ends up!
